… or in the case of today, the lack of punches since this is another gym-less night. Sigh.
I had to stay an extra two hours at work so making it to the gym wasn’t going to happen… again. This is just one of those insane weeks at work I guess, so I think it’s better to commit to getting enough sleep and taking it easy with the work out schedule. The alternative is I push myself too hard, get sick, and then end up out of commission.
I’ll take the extra rest, merci!
Pear-fect
Okay, this bowl actually wasn’t perfect. I imagined this tasting different than it did, but it was still okay. Clearly I’m just trying to be clever with the word pear… anyway…
This was 1/2 c. of oat bran with 1/2 a pear cooked together, and the toppings were raisins, blackberries, flax seed, pear pieces and some hazelnut butter (which I’m almost out of…).
Munch My Lunch
My lunch tied me over really well, considering I had planned to be home eating a snack at 4:30 and didn’t get to eat until 7pm. That gets this lunch big time brownie points.
Mmm, I could so go for a brownie…
I digress.
I had my almonds + apricots at 11 while pounding through some work stuff.
The hummus + veggies went down the hatch at 12:30 I think.
And onto the arugula + black bean + cabbage + tomato + cucumber salad at 1:30. The arugula was a good change from the usual spring mix. It’s like eating little oak leaves which seems cool, for some reason.
Okay, maybe not cool… but different, at least.
This apple was so ridiculously juicy that I had to lean over my garbage can while I ate it so I didn’t drip all over my keyboard! My apple thought he was a peach.
The Carrot Destroyer
That’s me. I came home and demolished a couple handfuls of baby carrots with some more hummus. And some dried apricots. I needed to snack while my supper was cooking!
Supper was pretty tasty. Pesto chicken (really complicated – smear pesto on chicken… who knew) with steamed sweet potato + broccoli + corn. Not sure what the corn kick was all about but I definitely wanted some.
This was big time tasty! That triangular chicken looks pretty weird against the fakely bright veggies, but my stomach didn’t seem to mind.
I’m spending the rest of the night with some America’s Next Top Model, blog reading and getting my lunch packed for tomorrow. I’ll be snacking on an orange, too.
Hooray! My little sister arrives in Ottawa tomorrow to visit for the weekend! I’m not sure if I’ll be posting regularly while she’s here, but I’ll do what I can.
Have a great night!
Adi

I love the close up of the broccoli! I love the commercial shoots on ANTM, no one is really impressing me yet…
You know what’s amazing? You manage to make me laugh while reading about food!
Hope you have fun with your sister!
ps: almonds + apricots are amazing. where had they been all my life?? And with my scale I measure them so I know I’m not overeating them like I would’ve before lol
