Do Unto Your Stomach

As you would have it do unto you.

I was mean to mine last night and it sought revenge this morning.  While watching the movie, I ate an orange and some pineapple, more dates than a professional date harvester could pick in an hour, granola … I’m sure there was more but I think I hit the food-coma at that point and the rest remains a blur.

What a nasty mix of food!  My tummy was furious with me all night and this morning so I wasn’t hungry.  I eventually had this pear at church:

Aw, cute pear swaddled in paper towel. ;)

I did groceries after church and stocked up on produce (yah raspberries on sale!) so I should be set for the week.  I’m realizing that I seldom shop “in the aisles” at the grocery store anymore, unless I’m out of oatmeal ingredients.  I guess I’ve weaned myself off of the packaged eats – labels are a pain to read anyway.  Last time I checked, the only thing I had to read on a banana was “Chiquita”.  Much easier.

My tummy calmed down a bit as the morning went on so I had a wheat free sandwich for lunch.

This is where roast beef is meant to be: stuck between two pieces of bread.

Not sure what’s up with the long roast beef arm-like piece.  Hm.

Also between the bread (which was surprisingly delicious despite being hard enough to play hockey with – enter toaster) was lettuce + tomato + mustard + red onion.  I’ve missed good sandwiches the last little while!

I had baby carrots + baby pickles on the side.

I caved and bought the giant bag of carrots today.  I didn’t realize it, but I eat carrots all the time instead of other stuff, like last night’s strange mix of eats.  When I’m out of the carrots, I grab the dates.  It’s quite simple, actually.  So, problem solved: buy more carrots, eat fewer dates.

My sweet tooth was sort of satisfied with raspberries + blueberries + 1 and a half oaties.

Heather, have you considered renaming these “Small Bites of Heaven”?

This afternoon I’ve got lots of cooking to do for lunches for the week.  That is, if I don’t fall asleep on the couch.

Bye for now!
Adi
