Guess what today is?! Seven Ate Nine Day!
Yep, 07/08/09.
Do you know that joke, where the punch line is “… because 7 ate 9”? I think it’s about numbers going to a party, and 9 doesn’t show up because 7 got hungry… something like that. Jokes aren’t as good when you remember the punch line and nothing else.
Originally, I wanted to call this blog “Seven Ate Nine” but Oatonomy was the winner in the end. But, in honour of Seven Ate Nine Day, I did lots of eight-ing.
I was up and out the door just after 5:30am this morning. I snacked on this guy before I left…
I am loving the morning workouts. I biked to the gym and was out of breath by the time I got there. I did a quick 13 minutes on the treadie and 15 minutes of upper body lifting. It felt awesome to throw the weights around again! Then, back on the bike to get home and get ready for work. All in all, almost 440 calories burned and a happy heart from all that huffin’ n’ puffin’.
Breakfast in a bag was on the menu today. In a bag, I put 1/2 c. of oats + cinnamon + handful blueberries. When I got to work, I added 1/2 c. of water and nuked it for a couple minutes. I added t-mix on top, too.
These oats were way better than they normally are in the microwave! Not sure why, but the consistency wasn’t as gummy and blek as usual. I was loving the oats today, partly because I was freezing in the office.
Then I got some awesome news! The job stress has now been eliminated! All is well, and I am one thankful, thankful girl. To celebrate, my boss treated me to thai for lunch. We went to Sala Thai – one of those places you’d never go into unless someone told you it was good.
I got the lunch portion of “Pad Khing” – rice and pork with ginger and red and green peppers. Mushroom soup came with it too and it was great. Happy tummies all around.
A pomme was my afternoon snack, along with some baby carrots.
I ate a lot more carrots + hummus + t-mix between getting home and making supper. Oh yeah, and I had some peanut butter + honey cakeage.
Supper was lunch! It was a little soggy by the time I ate it, but oh well, it was easy.
Baby spinach + hardboiled egg + strawbs + sunflower seeds + balsamic vinegar was added after.
I had a side of buttered toasted rice bread. It was the best part of supper.
Dessert? You guessed it.
Mmmm.
I caught up with a friend at Starbucks tonight and then came home and did some snacking while I packed my lunch for tomorrow. It’s a sleep-in day… exercise won’t be until tomorrow night because I have rowing. Should be nice weather here, too.
Hope you had a great, fantastic, full of simple healthiness, Seven Ate Nine Day!
Adi

The joke is: Why is 6 afraid of 7?
You are a fool, and I love you.

I am dying with laughter right now, about to fall over into my bowl of oats!!! Ohhh dear. Numbers at a party?! Why would I even think that?!
woot woot way to get that workout in so early!
I had to google the punchline to find out the joke, so don’t feel bad, Adi! I vaguely remember hearing the joke as a kid, but that was a long time ago :).
I like your people at a party joke attempt, though!
