Did that sound Google-ad-ish?
How can you do that?
Chop off your hair. I took the scissors to my locks – okay, my hairdresser did – and traded The Hills hair for a blonde bob. My conversation with the hairdresser went something like this:
“We’re cutting it off today!”
“We’re what?! Why?!”
“Because. I want to.”
“Did you break up with your boyfriend?”
“No.”
“Lose your job?”
“No.”
“Then why do you want to cut it off?”
“Because I want a change. I’m tired of this look.”
“Are you sure? Like really, really sure?” He asks this as he’s running his hands through my hair and looking genuinely sad.
“YES! Now please, cut it off before I change my mind!”
And so he did. You would think I was asking him to cut off a limb. Granted, my hair was pretty much a person in itself, so rest in peace long locks. You’ve been replaced.
I Eat
Yummy yummy food.
Sweet tater soup from a box. Nothing to write home about. Apparently, something to write on the blog about.
Some oat bran to get a morning started. I think I want to find out how much water you can keeping adding to the same amount of oat bran until it says “stop.” In other words, the water doesn’t absorb anymore and I wreck my breakfast. This was 1/2 c. of almond milk with 1 c. of water to 1/2 c. of oat bran. Hmmmm…
I would write home about these blueberry oat bran bars! Wow wow wow. Excellent. Cane sugar-free, gluten free gems. They got thumbs up from friends too, so unless they were lying, even gluten and sugar eaters enjoy these:
I’ve eaten more than I care to remember.
La la la! They are just that yummy.
I’m into the dessert platters lately. That’s dangerous. You know what else is dangerous? Grocery shopping when you’re hungry. That’s how I explain the sugar-free jello pudding cups I bought. What was I thinking?! Oh yeah, that I was hungry and they looked delicious.
Taking it out of the plastic container makes it elegant, right?
I haven’t had a pudding cup in… a few dog years. I forgot the little chemical-laden goo tastes awesome. There’s likely a tummy ache on the horizon.
Oops, what do you know, another bar…
Grapes are my latest addiction. I eat too many.
What I don’t eat enough of is fish. It’s good for you, makes your brain happy, and isn’t chicken. Tilapia was on the dinner menu.
I seasoned the fish with olive oil + lime juice + sea salt + pepper and baked it at 400F on the convection setting for just under 15 minutes. I reheated some quinoa and added curry powder to it, and on heated some veggie mix for colour. And for more food.
It was a super easy supper that took no time to make and was packed with protein, good fats and healthy carbs.
I earned another dessert platter after that one! And a blueberry bar.
I Move
I went running yesterday, first time sans ponytail. I learned that my giant ponytail acted as a smaller scale wind turbine, that essentially propelled me forward.
No ponytail = less speed. Guess I have to rely on my legs now.
It was a slow 5 km that I hadn’t planned on doing at all, so slow or not, a run is a run! Today I shopped and I think that’s exercise…
It’s the loooong weekend, so I hope you enjoy it! If you have the day off work tomorrow, go do something fun. :) If you’re starting school this week, go do something fun anyway. :) If neither applies to you, you should have the most fun of all! We all need some more of that.
Adi
PS – I finally got around to putting up a new You Need That? page, so you can check out a new (useless?) kitchen gadget…

I bet you look beautiful with your short hair! Do you like it better than long hair? I always want to have short hair but it doesn’t look good on me ( I’ve tried…and tried…and tried).
Aww I bet your hair looks great! That blueberry bar looks awesome! I’m about to go search your blog for the recipe
YUM!
Wow, congrats on new haircut! I was considering a change too, but I’ll just cut the tips of it. I love my hair too much
I do prefer it to long hair, yep - but it’s more work. It’s easier to get away with less of a style with long hair than with short, but stylish hair is always a plus!!
One of these days I’ll actually get around to putting a picture up of me on the blog and then you can see it! I think short hair can suit most faces, so long as it’s cut for your face shape. Just my 2 cents
a kitchen gadget page sounds like a fantastic idea! I am in desperate need of a hair cute right now but I am too afraid to cut my long locks
Wow, good for you for cutting off THE HAIR. Bold move. I did that too last fall. Sadly I didn’t love it very much and missed my long hair for a long time but I think that was partially because I didn’t like the way the hairdresser cut my layers either so it made (and is still making) the growing out process a bit more of a hassle.
I’m glad you like yours though! Haha. I’ll bet it looks awesome. And probably dries a lot quicker too, which is always nice. Plus, you can’t beat the fresh and healthy feeling of newly chopped locks.
Those blueberry bars look diiiiiiiiiivine. I think I might have to pick up a giant blueberry tray and get some baking going.
I personally can vouch for the fact that Adi looks awesome with short hair!
Haha thanks Heather!
